Recap: ICEMEN CRUISE THROUGH FISH KILL

Tim Polanowski had a hat-trick and finished with 4 points (3G,1A) to lead the Icemen into sole possession of first place in the crap division with a 6-3 victory over the Stripers.  Dr. Bob returned from a business trip in Japan in just enough time to post a solid game in net. When asked if the trip affected his play, Dr. Bob replied, "I was very relaxed tonight. Everything in Japan comes with a happy ending."

After Paul Sampson stole the puck from a Stripers' defenseman and swept the puck past their goalie for a 1-0 lead, Tim scored the next 3 goals to extend the lead to 4-0. Jay Burke would score with with 6:32 remaining in the game to open a 5-0 lead before the Stripers would finally get on the board.

"They looked defeated headed in to the third period", said Patrick Mullen, who had a goal and an assist in the game. "It wasn't until a couple of clean plays that they flopped down on looking for cheap calls that they really got pissed and picked up both their pace and their whining. Listening to them bitch was more annoying than those friggin' vuvuzelas."

"It was a good, competitive game that we just capitalized on more of our chances than them", said Captain Pat Morin. "Hopefully, we'll have several more good games between us and they don't go the route of the Bombers and start scouting at Loyola games because of one pounding."
